Mail Art. In this parody of orientalist painting, a desert scene satirizes petrol sheikhs/sultans and their harem of two Mariannes (a symbol for the French nation), using stamps for her heads. In a similar Mail Art drawing to a Sudanese friend, the title is ’petroparadisio’.
