Letter from RD to his parents, relating to: his health, which he assures them is good, despite rumours to the contrary; his parents' new home; his decision to return to the stage, and current rehearsals with the Old Vic company; a recent holiday in Cornwall, where he and Ella celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary; a flat he is renting in the heart of theatreland; and his pleasure that his father loved [Goodbye, Mr] Chips (commenting that Paul Muni and Jimmy Cagney consider him to be the greatest living actor).
