Letter from RD to his mother. The first part of the letter was written on board the RMS Mauretania on RD's return journey from America and relates to his visit. The letter was continued a week later at home, and topics covered include: his work on dubbing the sound for the film [The cure for love]; the music for the film, which he believes will be a hit; his hope of having a double premiere in Manchester as well as a London premiere at the Odeon in Leicester Square; his ability to resume paying regular cheques to his mother; and his hope of doing something for the 1951 [Festival of Britain] Exhibition.

Holograph. Written on the headed paper of RMS Mauretania.
