Scope and Content

Letter from RD to his father, discussing matters connected to Poland, Ernst Donat's native country. RD refers to: his meeting with Floryan Sobieniowski (G.B. Shaw's Polish translator) at the Malvern Festival, and an interview he gave Sobieniowski for a Warsaw paper; plans for a gala season of Shaw's plays to be staged at a seaside resort on the Baltic Polish Corridor, and the possibility of RD taking some lead parts; a play by a Polish writer (translated by Sobieniowski) which has excited RD, and which he is sending his father (not included here). He encloses a letter he received from Sobieniowski dated 2 August 1933.
