Letter from RD to his mother, relating to: his intention to send her a money order or present now the war is over; plans for a revival of The glass slipper [at the St James's Theatre, a children's pantomime based on the Cinderella story which Herbert and Eleanor Farjeon wrote for RD, and which had its first run in December 1944]; his eagerness for his own children [now back in the UK] to see it; the possibility of the play moving to Broadway; news of the children, who have now started at new schools in England; and Ella's move back to Brambleberry. He thanks his mother for copies of the New Yorker which have helped to preserve his sanity during the war.
Written on the headed paper of the Westminster Theatre, London, SW1. Holograph.
