Victor has drawn eight well-dressed people, seven men and one woman, sat at a long dinner table with blank white faces. Some of them rest their head on their hands and one is smoking a cigar. The image is captioned 'Society of Insipid Artists' and Victor writes to Inge apologising that 'the company wasn't more stimulating last night'. He also mentions the cold weather and how he hopes Inge is not too tired. On the reverse, Victor writes 'For Inge'.
