'War Artist, 1940-5' (chapter 5)

Contains Roger Berthoud's notes and source material for the fifth chapter which covered Graham Sutherland's time as an Official War Artist in the Second World War. There are transcripts from interviews with Graham and Kathleen Sutherland, Kenneth Clark, Felix Man, David Carritt, and Eardley Knollys and Berthoud's notes on Sutherland as a war artist. There are letters from Sutherland's old students and photocopied letters from Sutherland to Kenneth and Jane Clark, Michael Ayrton, Hans and Elsbeth Juda, John Craxton, Eric Newton and others. There are also some press cuttings and photocopied articles from publications.
