Loose material from Frances Gill, The rain shadow: poems (London: Mitre Press, 1976), consisting of a letter to Nicholson from Margaret Paice, relating to: Shortlands Poetry Society with which she is involved in Bromley, and the possibility of Nicholson giving a reading to the group when he is in the south; a forthcoming visit to the group by Norman McCaig, whom Nicholson has praised to Paice in the past; the possibility of Nicholson looking at a book of poems by Mollie Vickers [writing as Frances Gill], which Vickers has had published; news of mutual acquaintances; and her enjoyment of [Nicholson's autobiography] Wednesday early closing.
