Loose material from Peter Dunn, Death of a scarecrow (Hatch End: Poet and Printer, ca. 1984): a card containing a letter to Nicholson from Dunn, who thanks him for a cheque and hopes that he will enjoy Death of a scarecrow; he refers to the selection of contents for the book, which was largely made by other people; and observes that it would have been enjoyable to write about his home town of Brighton in the way Nicholson has written of Millom, but that his aims and circumstances are different.
Dated at Brighton, East Sussex; holograph. Inserted inside front cover.
