Incorporated 3 December 1955, as subsidiary of Whitefields Ltd, shares transferred to W.S. Shuttleworth and Co., 1967 and to Rowntree Mackintosh in 1970. Renamed Rowntree and Company Ltd, 30 May 1969 and was appointed managing agent for Rowntree Mackintosh Ltd, to allow RM to continue to trade under the name Rowntree and Co. Renamed Rowntree Mackintosh plc 30 June 1987. Renamed British Biscuit Ltd.
