A note says that Le Grand was a former member of staff at the Edgbaston prep school where Ridgway's father had been headmaster, he later joined his father at Bradfield School, and Robin had lived with them between 1919-21. le Grand and wife later went to South Africa to live but on his wife's death Ernest le Grand returned to this country and died in 1962].
