The firm of Chilprufe Limited grew from the enterprise of John A. Bolton (1867-1945) of Leicester. His company became Chilprufe Limited in 1936, and was based at a factory on St Barnabas Road, Leicester. The company was registered no. 319649 at Companies House. In 1962 the company's ordinary share capital was bought out by Pasolds Limited. The company was renamed Pasolds (Chilprufe) Ltd in 1984, and Pasolds (Trading) Ltd in 1986. The company was dissolved on 24 February 2004.
