Peter and Elisabeth Lawton have lived in Colwyn Bay for nearly most of their lives. Peter was a window cleaner, Elisabeth worked as a stockbroker in Wynnstay Road for forty years. Elisabeth came from Canada and moved to Old Colwyn once her grandmother died. Her father, Dixon Barrett, worked for Perkins Diesel, and met her mother in work. She was born in Baghdad some years later before coming to move to the area in 1961. Peter's father, Sid Lawton, moved to the area at aged 7 to work at Duff's Dairies (West End) and worked as a milk carrier with a horse and cart. His grandfather and father established a window cleaning business - a business Peter now runs. He recalls using a push cart to move cleaning supplies to and from buildings, and went up to Bryn y Maen to wash the windows of some of the notable residents of the area, including Mrs Terry (Terry's Chocolates). The pair remember the old funfair at Colwyn Bay, as well as a number of businesses, cinemas and characters from the area.
