Scope and Content

Letter from an unnamed correspondent to the Reverend Mackintosh Mackay, Minister of Laggan, at East Register Street, Edinburgh. Although the letter is not dated, the date of the watermark would indicate after 1825.
The letter is in the form of a poem of 11 qtt. + refrain headed, 'Luinneag / Composed to Robert Stewart, Esq. Younger of Ardvorlich / Lochearnside, Perthshire / by Benjamin Urquhart from Inverness, to the air of Ga bheil na Gaidheal air fas cho fasanach'. It begins, 'Mhic an uasail a ghluasas fasanach ...'.
