A collection of several hundred Gaelic manuscripts and transcriptions formed by the Rev. Dr George Henderson (1866-1912), lecturer in Celtic studies at Glasgow University from 1906 to 1912. One of the treasures of the collection is the 17th-century Ratisbon Manuscript (GB 247 MS Gen 21), a collection of religious and poetical works in Gaelic, which until 1862 was in the possession of the monastery of St James at Ratisbon (Regensburg).

Administrative / Biographical History
George Henderson was Minister for the Church of Scotland at Eddrachillis (Tongue) between 1901 and 1911. He was a Lecturer in Celtic Studies at University of Glasgow from 1906 until his death in 1912. He gained his MA at the University of Edinburgh in 1898 and his received a PhD from the University of Vienna. He married Agnes D. Niebuhr.
