Scope and Content

1 Henry Jones of Pentirch, co. Mont., gent.; Mary, his wife; John Morris of Dolwar, gent. 2 John Colley the younger of Poole [Welshpool], co. Mont., gent. 3 Dohn Stephens of Poole, gent. Mortgage (by lease and release) of m. or tmt Tyddin Madog Pentirch, t Pentirch, now held by (1) reciting nos 20 and 24, and a Bond [probably Tyddyn Madog Pentyrch no. 8; missing] 26 Jan., 1741, by which Henry Jones and Henry Jones the elder agreed to pay £20 with interest by 25 Jan. 1742/3. (1) agrees to lease the m. to (2) for 1 year from 1 March 1742/3 and to suffer a Common Recovery by double voucher at the next Great Sessions at Poole, with (3) as demandant, (2) as tenant and Henry Jones and wife Mary as 1st vouchees. Henry Jones covenants to pay John Morris £168 by 2 March 1743 for the property. Consideration: £160. Endorsed on no. 27: note of John Morris agreeing to have £160 and interest of £4.10.0 p.a., providing it is paid in 6 months. Endorsed in late 18thC hand on no. 26: 'Tyddyn madog pentirch no., (9)'; no. 27: 'Tyddyn madog pentirch no. (10)'. Stained.
