Bound collection of MS, correspondence and printed material used by William Yarrell (1784-1856) for his chapter on the mute swan in his A History of British Birds, 3 vols, 1843 (and later editions), purchased (presumably by Ticehurst) from Henry Sotheran Ltd, 43 Piccadilly, London, from a Sotheran catalogue, cat no. 2120, £4.4s.

Correspondents include Sir Henry Ellis, British Museum, 28 May 1849 and 1 August 1849; Mr Roberts, Lambeth, ‘Queens Swan Marker’, 14 October 1841; J.H. Gurney, 13 January 1844.
