of all claim to Bryn y Ceirch and Maes yr Odyn - the jointure of Margaret vch Richard ap John Owen after the death of her [first] husband John Thomas [ap John ap Ieuan etc.] - to her father Richard ap John, upon his paying £190 as her marriage portion to her [second] husband Thomas Williams [ap Williams ap Thomas] of Glangwna ["Glangwnney"]. Whether Richard ap John was an ordinary smith or not, he had amassed a considerable sum of money, to be able to pay a very substantial portion on his daughter's marriage to one of the Caernarfonshire squires.
