Cites a bond obligatory in £160 (to cover £80) by Ellis Evans to Mrs Vaughan (28 January 1748-1749); failure to pay by appointed date; action in Merioneth Great Sessions; sum due altogether were £80 + £12 interest + £28 also paid in hand to Evans by Margaret Vaughan, i.e., £120. This becomes the mortgage consideration; Hafodgai must be redeemed by paying £120 and their lawful interest at or upon 8 February 1754.

This Margaret Vaughan was the wife of Richard Vaughan, and mother of William Vaughan. of Corsygedol [and Nannau], M.P. for Meirionnydd for many years.
