Scope and Content

This catalogue refers to many important documents regarding Wales, notably MS.1027 (pages 85-90) which contains a wealth of information about the "troubled times" of 1649 - 1660; MS.1030, which contains 114 docts. arising (in the main) out of the protracted disputes between Bishop John Williams and Archbishop Laud, and numerous other papers dealing with presentations to Welsh benefices, leases, revenues, etc., during the Commonwealth and Protectorate. 390 pages, of which pages 161 - 390 is an index, with several subsidiary indexes and appendices. Written in several hands, but no one can mistake the bold script of Dr. Ducarel himself.
