Administrative / Biographical History

Griffith Evans had long ago been acknowledged as one of the most distnguished veterinary surgeons in the country, as evidenced by the testimony of the "Journal of Tropical Veterinary Science" printed in Calcutta and by the fine tribute of Dr R.F. Montgomerie in the "Veterinary Record", 3 August 1935. He was for 20 years on the staff of UCNW as lecturer in Veterinary Hygine; in 1919 he was made Honorary D.Sc. of the University of Wales; in 1931 he was made freeman of the city of Bangor. Dr Griffith Evans was also one of the best friends of this Library, having from time to time made large donations of books, pamphlets and other papers.
