Correspondence between Nicholas Smythe Owen (afterwards Nicholas Owen Smythe Owen), Nicholas Smythe, his father, the Rev. John Smythe, his uncle, W. Busby, his tutor, and others. Later letters concern Nicholas Smythe Owen's nephew, Edward William Pemberton, a school friend of HLP's adopted son John Salusbury Piozzi Salusbury. Edward, the son of Edward and Anna Maria Pemberton (née Smythe) later became Edward William Smythe Owen of Condover. His sister, Harriet Maria Pemberton, married John Salusbury Piozzi Salusbury. There are papers giving genealogical information about the Owen family.
