Letters from HLP and others to John Salusbury Piozzi Salusbury, HLP's adopted son.

The volumes comprise:

  • Volume 1 (Eng MS 585), numbers 1-80, 1807-1810;
  • Volume 2 (Eng MS 586), numbers 81-159, 1810-1813;
  • Volume 3 (Eng MS 587), numbers 160-238, 1813-1814;
  • Volume 4 (Eng MS 588), numbers 239-316, 1814-1816;
  • Volume 5 (Eng MS 589), numbers 317-395, 1816-1818;
  • Volume 6 (Eng MS 590), numbers 396-473, 1818-1821.

Of the above, letter number 1 is from Robert Ray about John Salusbury Piozzi, and is dated 22 November 1798; number 48 contains translations of letters to the young Piozzi from his mother, Maria Theresa Fracasso Piozzi, and his brother, Gabriel Piozzi; number 90 has a note to R[obert?] Pemberton; number 100 includes a note from Lady Kirkwall [Anna Maria Fitzmaurice]; number 250 is a note from Mrs Salusbury [probably Harriet Maria Salusbury]; and number 473 is endorsed: The last letter from poor dear Mrs Piozzi.
