Ashdown, Uppington near Wellington, 31 Jan. 1865, between the Manchester and Milford Railway [Co.] and Miss M. E. Hayward touching lands in p. Llangurig; conveyance, 3 July 1871, to the Manchester and Milford Railway Co. by the trustees of the settlement of Margaret Eleanor Phillips (formerly M. E. Hayward, spinster, grand niece of Thomas Hayward) of parcels of land forming part of Werntyddin, Bwlch-hafodygof, and Cefnhafode, p. Llangurig; draft conveyances by the Cambrian Railways Co. to Thomas Hayward of Llanidloes, gent., of pieces of land in Llanidloes, 1873 (approved on behalf of the Company by H. Christian Corfield 12 June and 12 July 1873); a plan (undated) of properties above Maenol in the parishes of Llanidloes and Llangurig belonging to Thomas Hayward, esq., trustee of Miss M. E. Hayward, showing the quantity of land required for the purposes of the Mid-Wales Railway an agreement, 17 Jan. 1916, for the re-sale by the Great Western Railway Co. to Mrs Margaret Eleanor Phillips, 45 The Terrace, Aberystwyth, of land in p. Llangurig, being part of the site of the abandoned Llangurig Branch of the Manchester and Milford Railway, a conveyance of the same, 14 Feb. 1916, and original and copy correspondence, Aug.-Oct. 1915, relating thereto between W[illiam] H[erbert] Williams, agent to the Company, James Grant, land agent, Llanidloes, and Miss [E. M.] Phillips, 45 The Terrace, Aberystwyth; and correspondence, July-Sept. 1904, between Mrs M. E. Phillips, 45 The Terrace, Aberystwyth, and C. S. Denniss, secretary to the Cambrian Railways Company, Oswestry, following the amalgamation of the Mid-Wales Railway Co. and the Cambrian Railways Co., touching the exchange of certificates of shares held in the former company by Thomas Hayward of Llanidloes.
