Whatley, Plas Madoc, E. Owen Phillips, the Vicarage, Aberystwyth, and at St Davids, H. Vaughan Thomas, Rhayader, Jno. Alex. Shepard, solicitor, Tredegar, Edwd W. Crosse, London (will of Wm Swancott; legacy by writer's father to the recipient), Thos Jones, Llanidloes (lease of Cefnfodau), J. C. Edwards, Trefynant Fire Clay Works, etc., Ruabon (delivery of pipes), W. N. Swettenham, Newtown, and Messrs Powell and Swettenham, London and Newtown, Messrs Talbot, Woosnam, and Hitchinson, Newtown, and Messrs Lovegrove and Bryan, Gloucester. The few letters addressed to Mrs Hayward and the Rev. E. O. Phillips are dated 1879 and relate to the death of Thomas Hayward and the probate of his will. Also included in the group is a letter, 12 Dec. 1871, from Evan Powell, estate agent, architect and civil engineer, Newtown, to T[homas] Hayward, Maenol, relating to a proposed exchange of land between General Woosnam and Mrs Phillips, and to the recipient's offer for Mr Elwell's field.
