PAPERS RE: THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC

This group of papers is concerned with the threat of closure which faced the RCM's Museum of Instruments and the Portrait Department in the late 1980s, and the campaign by the Donors and Professors to prevent it. Owing to the sensitive nature of the correspondence and the recency of the events detailed, this collection of papers is to remain closed to the public for 50 years, ie. until 2044.
