The Buildings Committee. a committee of Council, was responsible for overseeing University estates projects. The Committee was originally chaired by Charles Renold and members included senior Council figures such as Ernest Simon, Raymond Streat and William Claire Lees. The minutes of this Committee are particularly informative on the development of the University's built environment in the postwar decades. The Committee was succeeded by the Estates Committee in the 1980s (whose minutes have not been located).
