Subjects include: holiday to Port Bannatyne (1 - 15 Aug); purchase of a gas-powered iron for his wife (13 Sep); reports of a train smash in Queen Street Tunnel (13 Oct); municipal election (6 Nov); epidemic of flu in Glasgow (9 Jan); his wife attending a talking film, the "Singing Fool" at the Coliseum (30 Jan); his son suffering from appendicitis and undergoing an operation at the Victoria Infirmary (6 Apr); his son returning home from hospital (4 May); his son sitting a series of university examinations (31 May - 10 Jun); holiday to Rothesay (15 - 29 Jun); visiting the new museum on Bute (17 Jun); his son coming first in the bursary examination (22 Jun); inspecting the ship "Nelson" and his son to be awarded the Dux of his school (27 Jun); his son winning a Bethia Stewart bursary for £130 and the family attending his dux award ceremony in Glasgow (28 Jun); his son receiving confirmation from the University of Glasgow that he will receive an annual bursary of £40 for 4 years (30 Jul); Sighthill Cemetery in liquidation and his wife attending a meeting of plot-holders (7 Aug); his son receiving a letter of congratulations from Sir John Gilmour, patron of Pollokshields School (9 Sep) and holiday to Rothesay (17 - 29 Sep) and visiting St Blane's Chapel, Kingarth (26 Sep).
