TETSWORTH COUNCIL SCHOOL

This school was built in 1848 at a cost of £557, paid for by Rev.J.W.Peers, vicar of Tetsworth, among others. It started as a Church of England School, and was later affiliated to the National Society. The building was intended to accommodate 90 pupils, but by 1871 only had 51 children. This was partly due to the fact that another school was in existence in the village by then. In 1877 a School Board for Tetsworth and Attington was set up, followed by a Board School in 1881.
