Telling her about the dispute with the unemployed in Reading about the reduction in the scale of benefits. After the meeting where the new scale was passed she had to walk through 'a hooting, swearing, threatening mob' of unemployed. The crowd followed her home and she received a deputation of three who asked her to resign but she refused and finally they went off.
