Scope and Content

Burgis was the Honorary Secretary Nottingham WSPU. Copy letter. To say he had met Mrs Taylor (she was released after hunger striking from Holloway on 27 Apr and taken to her sister's house) in London the day before and were met at Nottingham by Mrs Bolton and the children with a Royal welcome. Mrs Taylor not yet fit to make even a few remarks in public. The expression 'those who have friends and those who have not' used in his letter to the Honorary Secretary of 29 Apr 1912 might be resented by the friends of Miss Crocker and Miss Roberets. What he should have said was 'whose friends make Hell and do not'
