Scope and Content

The Hillel Foundation was set up to promote Jewish culture and student welfare in every place where there are Jewish students attending university. Oxford Hillel was a part of international B'nai B'rith, and the London Hillel Foundation gave financial assistance and supported the local Oxford group. The main activity of Oxford Hillel was to run a meal service, largely for the University students. See section O26/16 for records relating to the Oxford University Jewish Society (OUJS), and O26/2 for records relating to B'nai B'rith / Lodges.
