Scope and Content

Members of the Oxford B'nai B'rith decided to disband The Oxford Joint Lodge, partly as a result of spiralling costs. A new society was formed in 1990 called the 'Oxford Menorah Society' to carry on many of the functions of the old B'nai B'rith Lodge but to be operated entirely for the benefit of the local community. The first meeting of the Oxford Menorah Society was 22nd August 1990.

The object of the Oxford Menorah Society, as set out in their constitution, is to enhance the social, educational and cultural content of Jewish life in Oxford, and to raise money for charitable purposes.
