Scope and Content

At the Dardanelles, the hospital trains gave way to hospital barges, which conveyed the wounded to the magnificently appointed hospital ships, equipped with every appliance for the alleviation of the wounded – lifts, electric light, operating tables, and all the apparatus of the operating theatre ready at hand for immediate needs, and willing hands and brains to use them.
