To R B Braithwaite, congratulates him on his chair [Richard Beavan Braithwaite, 1900-1990, Knightsbridge professor of moral philosophy, University of Cambridge, 1953-1967]. Braithwaite's replies asking for details of the date of Robin Gandy's Ph.D. oral examination. He thanks Turing for his congratulations and confesses he has never lectured on ethics before, humorously suggesting he might treat it as a branch of the theory of games.
Note: Turing and Braithwaite were the examiners for Gandy's Ph.D. which eventually took place in May 1953 at Cambridge [Hodges Alan Turing, p.486.]
