Scope and Content

From L L Whyte [Lancelot Law Whyte (1896–1972) physicist and philosopher of science], encloses an offprint, "On unique arrangements of points in a sphere" which relates to what he said at the Cambridge meeting; Turing's reply says his work on biological systems dealt with a similar problem but with a different law of force, which he then explains. In response to Whtye's question "what spherical arrangements possess external properties of any kind?", he thinks "almost every arrangement possess some external property", and explains why he thinks this.
