[00:25:20] School: Comparison of standards of education from days past until present. [00:28:10] School: Stresses of Eleven Plus exams. If passed it meant grammarschool education. [00:30:28] School: Easier to get into Grammar school in Swansea Valley - only half the pass marks required!. [00:33:12] Community: Advent of private schools in Swansea. [00:34:12] Community: No poverty in Bishopston, family farms and market gardens ensured childs future. [00:37:10] School: Children falling into the river, soaking wet in school. [00:38:46] School: Teachers had to teach all ages - difficulty in adapting. [00:41:02] School: Chistmas in school, children brought in food despite food rationing (helped that they were farm children!). [00:41:51] School: St Davids Day concert. Always in Welsh. [00:43:20] School: Non Welsh speaking area, but children loved singing Welsh hymns. [00:45:40] School: Boys used to take Mr Jones (teacher) down Bishopston Valley to shw him the area. [00:46:56] School: Excitement when building of new school was completed, sorting out old books from oldschool. [00:48:40] School: Books obtained bysaving wrappers from Sunlight Soap. [00:49:30] School: Archivist visit to take old books, admission registers and log books away. [00:50:30] School: All new furniture in new school, Feb 1950 opening ceremony. [00:51:50] School: Private school in a house in Oldway, Bishopston. [00:52:54] School: Spread of Diptheria was believed to be the fault of schools. [00:53:20] School: Old school was sold for £900.
