Release by John Prichard of Gors, parish of Holyhead and Elizabeth his wife, to William Lewis Hughes of Kinmel Park, of the messuage of Bryn y Fuches (about 54 acres in extent) with the appurtenant Ynys Gadarn in Dulas Bay, the messuage bordering on the Llysdulas demesne and being practically surrounded by land already included in the Llysdulas estate

Scope and Content

Consideration, £2,000. The document describes the devolution of the property at some length: formerly the property of John Prytherch of Tregayan and Llysdulas Ucha (d. 1724), by him devised to his daughter Margaret, wife of Rowland Hughes of Lligwy and Bryngola, and by Margaret to her daughters Mary and Ann, wife of a John Knight, but for life only and the longest liver, then to her daughter Elizabeth, wife of the John Prichard aforesaid. The Pedigrees, 128, are incomplete over the daughters of Rowland and Margaret Hughes: Ann is not mentioned, nor is Elizabeth, but a daughter Jane is, probably a mistake for Ann.
