Refers to the purchase of the property by the Rev. Edward Hughes, grandfather of H.R.Hughes and to the ramifications of the will of E.Hughes and its numerous codicils. On page. 11 the date of the death of Colonel James Hughes, third and youngest son of E.Hughes, is left open - it is supplied by Pedigrees, p.333, viz. November 29, 1845.
