The file contains both a TS and an MS of ‘“Rommel?” “Gunner Who?”’, volume 2 of Milligan War Memoirs, as well as a separate single leaf of the TS, and MS illustrations, other pictures and correspondence relating to the same work. Contained in a box file with original handwritten labels, the first of which, written by Milligan, has been overlaid and of which only the bottom half is still visible, reading: […] | Drawings | Vol II | Rommel - | Gunner | Who.’ The overlying label, also written by Milligan, reads: ‘‘Gunner Who? | Rommel | Almost completed | M.S | Vol II | WAR MEMOIRS’. A smaller handwritten label underneath the previous two in faded red ink, possibly written by Milligan: ‘Also Letters from | people involved | in the Campaign’. On the front of the box file, in the top right hand corner, another handwritten label, also possibly written by Milligan: ‘To date | 7 Oct 75 | sold | 78, 577 | hard backs’.
