Manuscript letter referring to religious opposition to Owen's views. These have been espoused by Mr. Curling, Chaplain of Southwark [London], who stated in a report that the "existing evils" were caused by the lack of "religious principle" and religious teaching was the remedy for this. Despite not naming Owen personally, Reynolds believes that Curling was referring to him when speaking of a "large band of infidels" who are openly attacking religion.
