Scope and Content

Large ross drawing of the posterior of the brain from below at post mortem with the tumour evident on the right with two smaller drawings below of more detailed aspects of the tumour itself. Annotations on the back read "MRI Mr Jefferson patient's surname 4.?.43 (mors) Rt. acoustic neuroma".

This image features as figure 5 in the publication G. Jefferson, 'Diagnosi differenziale delle lesioni della fossa cranica posteriore', Archivio de Neurochirurgia, 1954, Vol.2(1) in which it is described as a "neurinoma dell'acoustico causa di una grave impronta nel peduncolo cerebellare medio. Lieve interessamento dei lobuli cerebellari".
