Administrative / Biographical History
Deborah Taylor (nee Darby) was born in 1941 and educated at Wycome Abbey School where she learnt to play lacrosse and at St. Thomas' Hospital, qualifying as a physiotherapist. Deborah played lacrosse for Putney Ladies' Lacrosse Club, Birmingham Ladies' Lacrosse Club and the Midlands territorial team in the 1960s. She played for England in 1966 and 1967, and was a member of the Great Britain and Ireland Touring Team (GBITT) visit to the USA in 1967.
Away from the lacrosse field, Deborah was the Midlands Women's Lacrosse Association (MWLA) representative on the national tour committee for the visit by the US Women's Lacrosse team in 1970 and organised the Midlands leg of the tour. She also served as President of the MWLA from [1983] to [1993] and was President of the England Lacrosse Association from 1994 to 1997.

The papers were gifted to the University of Bedfordshire by Deborah Taylor on 25 November 2020, under Accession No. AWL2020/001.
