Scope and Content

He has surveyed at Kemlyn but not without great difficulty. Has also surveyed Dulas sands and sent a map thereof. The plots of pasture marked 1.2.3.4. are always used by the tenant at Rhosvadogs; the marsh called Morfa pentre Erianell is always used by the tenant at pentre Erianell and the ridge of land crossing the harbour's mouth (Darren) is always used by Mr Lloyds tenant.

The sea runs up to Dulas village on the full and change tides but it is uncertain where the high water mark may be taken exactly. The part of the sand distinguished by a deeper colour is commonly called graean and the rest being common red sand. The inhabitants have lately found one foot deep in the ground, rotten shells, which is profitable for improvements of land; and near Coed y Gell about a foot deep they find a quantity of nut shells. The sea has a rapid motion at Glaslyn.

He can scarce believe that ever a Gentleman in England hath such an insight of his estate as he is likely to have from these maps.

Has shewed the proposals for the map of Anglesey to severall, but is certain that he could never get enough subscribers.

The maps are packed in a box and should be bound or pasted to sort leaves. He has never had an hours instruction in the art of painting.

Would be glad to know the lowest price of cotton wool at Bodorgan.

He will expect an answer with Mr Mackay's opinion of them - he ought to have taught me a little perspective.

In margin :

John Davies of Llangwyfan is still troubled with the palsy and he doesn't think he'll ever recover

Later addition in ms :

Part answer by O[wen] M[eyrick] on 5 Febr [1]725 Mr Mackay will judge the survey not very compleat for want of drawing the inclosures and nature and measure of closures. States that he has omitted some stone walls etc. but they may still be inserted. The next [letter] shall have the remarks of Mackay
