There is discussion of the details and circumstances of a financial dispute in relation an investment, loan and real estate between Captain Thomson and ‘C’ and ‘M’ [C.M. Montgomery and E.J. Cox?]. There is reference to the response of the assembly and a request for Darby’s advice on the problem.
Also included is a copy of an extract of Captain Thomson’s letter of 4 Jan, 1875, relating to the sale of real estate in San Francisco.
The envelope is addressed to John Nelson Darby, c/o Mr Martin Catheart[t?], 64 Bible House, Aston Place, New York. Also included is a handwritten note by [John Nelson Darby?] which reads ‘Grant and Thompson as to S. Frano [San Francisco]’, and an additional annotation which reads ‘R. Grant’.
