Scope and Content

Memoranda, reports and notices concerning various issues concerning staff such as accidents, public duties, awards for bravery, registered disabled persons, alternative employment, the standard staff record, first aid, towels and soap for staff use, the staff superannuation fund, contact with infectious diseases, the engagement of staff, medical examinations, war memorials, library representatives, the automatic telephone directory, staff with foreign languages, the election of staff representatives, the radiography service, the Control of Engagement Order and Direction of Labour 1947, an education scheme, sports fixtures, vacancies at the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, the Lost Property Employees' Benefit Fund, the clothes rationing scheme, re-engagement, transfers and the organisation of the Public Relations Office. Also includes published notes from the meeting of the London Transport (Administrative and Supervisory) Staff Superannuation Fund of 14 July 1949, a booklet entitled 'Co-operation between Staff and Management', a telegram from London Transport to the King and Queen upon the birth of their first grandchild, a list of widows and orphans of staff killed in air raids, a list of staff away ill for over six months, a list of widows of staff who died after long illness and old age pensioners over 65.
