Scope and Content

Correspondence and papers concerning various conferences and exhibitions including the Joint Conference on Industrial Design, The Royal Society of Arts Exhibition, the 900th Anniversary of Westminster Abbey: Exhibition of Science and Engineering, the London Transport Area Art Schools' Exhibition, a poster exhibition at South Kensington Station, an exhibition held in conjunction with the Underground centenary, the London tramway centenary and the German Industries Exhibition in 1961. Includes details of overseas exhibitions and the proposal to establish the London Transport Museum. Also includes six photographs of a British Railways information stand, a list of shows and exhibitions of 1958, and a copy of the proceedings and speech delivered by the Chairman of London Transport at the Royal Society of Arts symposium on Design Management.
