Scope and Content

1. Evan Carreg of Carreg, co. Caernarfon, gent.

2. John Humphreys of Caeronwch, co. Merioneth, gent, and John Carreg of Cemais, co. Montgomery, gent.

3. Ellis Wynne of Lase-ynus, co. Merioneth, gent.

4. Robert WYnne of Taltryddyn, co. Merioneth, gent.

Settlement (after the marriage of the said Evan Carreg and Elizabeth, his now wife, only daughter of the said Robert Wynne) of the capital messuages, tenements and demesne lands called Carreg Ucha and Carreg Issa in the parish of Aberdaron and township of Bodrydd; other messuages and lands called Tyddyn Bryn eithin, Rhyd Lios, Tyddyn y ffol, Tyddyn Pen y Bryn, Tir bonog, Tyddyn y Graig, Corse Angelog, Tyddyn Pen-porthor, Corse Bychain, Tai Cochion, Ty Newydd, Ty yn dre, alias Erw fforchog, Tyddyn y Pant and Tu Mawr Bodferin and Tyddyn tri hobed, all situate in the several townships, fields, hamlets and parishes of Aberdaron and Uwchselah [Uwch Sely] to the following uses:

(a.) Carreg Ucha and Carreg Issa to the use of the said Evan Carreg for his life and after his death, as concerning Carreg Ucha, together with its adjoining lands called Bryn Carreg Ucha, Mynydd Carreg and part of Nant y Gwair belonging to Carreg Ucha which is divided by a brook on the Carreg Ucha side, Drull dan y Mynydd, Gelltydd y Dinessydd, Dinas Ucha, Dinas issa, Gelldydd Porthorion on Carreg side of the brook and Cefn y ffunon newydd, Cae Cam, Cae Newydd, Cae'r lloya, Buartha'r Brundreiniog and Y Bryndreiniog, Tyddyn Carreg Ucha, Cae uwch Rhos Carreg, Rhos Carreg and Cae'r Cyffyle to the use of the said Elizabeth as her jointure.

(b.) Rest and residue of the premises after the determination of the terms for lives aforementioned to the use of John Humphreys and John Carreg during the life of Evan Carreg to preserve the contingent remainder, then to the use of Ellis Wynne and his assign for 100 years, then to the use successively of any male heirs of the said Evan and Elizabeth; then to the use successively of any daughters of the said Evan and Elizabeth.
