A collection of 210 items consisting of title deeds and allied documents, relating to miscellaneous properties in Nantgwnnadl, Tremorfa, Llanllawen, Isheli, Uwch Sely, Bodnithoedd, Rhiw, Aberdaron, Bodferin, Penllech and Bryncroes, co. Caernarfon. Also, covering properties in Llanaber and Llanddwywe, co. Merioneth, 1522-1884. Deeds covering particular properties include those relating to the Hendrefor estate (Llangwnnadl, Bodferin, Bryncroes, Aberdaron and Rhiw), 1587/8-1895; Llwyn Giffry, (Llanddwywe and Llanaber), 1683-98; Tir Dymeryn, Trefgwraig and Ty'r Toppyn (Aberdaron, Bryncroes and Llangwnnadl), 1701-1907; Carreg Demesne (Aberdaron), 1702-1805; Penygraig and Dalar Nant (Bodferin), 1761-1805; Sgubor (Bodferin), 1820-1835. Also included are rentals and accounts of the Carreg (and Hendrefor) estates, 1772-1860; miscellanea, including a book of reference to a survey of the Carreg estate, early 19th century.

Administrative / Biographical History
Little is known of the Carreg family of Plas Carreg, Aberdaron, Caernarfonshire. Family members which feature successively in the collection include, William Carreg (alive 1581); Griffith Carreg (ob.1702); Evan Carreg (ob.1738); John Carreg of Cemais, co. Montgomery; Griffith Carreg (ob.1737); Robert Carreg of Caernarfon, a mercer; Robert Carreg Jones of Caernarfon (will dated 30 November 1781); Robert Thomas Carreg of Carreg and Cefn Mine (will dated 7 March 1842); Dorothy Carreg of Caernarfon and Castletown, Isle of Man and Robert Carreg of Carreg and Cefn Mine. The Carreg estate covered properties in the parish of Aberdaron and surrounding area, as well as in a few parishes in Merionethshire.
