Carbon copy of typed notes by W.R. Brock, regarding the papers of John Proud, 1832, 1849-53. Papers are held by Wisconsin state historical society. Brock only has the following to say about the papers;
Record book kept by a member of a Scottish co-operative settlement at Verona, itemizing expenditures from the time the party left Brooklyn, N.Y., in november 1849 to the end of 1853, when the associationdissolved and members drew lots for individual holdings. also, certificate of Proud's membership in the Friendly United mechanics (1832), and his and his wife's declarations of intent to become citizens.
